Honestly, not really surprising. Some babies scream their heads off even if they have everything they need. It probably just sounded like business as usual to the neighbors.

if you hear a baby screaming continuously for more than an hour there is something seriously wrong.

Plenty of things can be wrong if a baby is screaming for an hour. Could even just be parents teaching baby to self-sooth.
