There were no such thing like "Byzantine empire".

It was fucking Eastern ROMAN EMPIRE,the state having continuous legitimacy from the times of Julius Ceasar and Roman Republic !

And its fall is thanks to Venetian doge (with probable jewish roots) and Germ-mani(a)c "Crusaders" of IV Crusade who attacked and butchered their Christian orthodox Brothers for personal profit.

"Holy Roman Empire" were unlawful Germ-mani(a)c pretenders to the legacy of the Rome appointed by popes.
