It's in the middle of the desert, very unappealing to you-know-who. My nephew's farm is 3 hours' drive from Orania. You basically drive 8 hours through the Karoo desert to get to the farm, then another 3 if you want to get to Orania. And it's one loooooong straight road. I love it there.

Damn, I never looked up where Orania actual was on a map. For some reason I always imagined it nearer the coast.
