The CDC fucked up and did a huge study decades ago to try to make guns and gun owners look bad, and ended up proving that an insane amount of crime is stopped in its tracks often times by just displaying a gun to the attacker. I’ll see if I can find it.

Yup. It’s common sense. People in general look for the easiest most distracted targets unless they’re absolutely insane. This is a huge reason why women are the majority of the victims of what most people consider crimes of opportunity not including sexual assault or rape. Women are less likely to fight back, and less likely to carry a weapon.

How so? Any jackass looking to shoot up a place can expect a 52% chance that somebody is going to shoot back. That's huge. I can see why they wanted to suppress these numbers, seeing as the fed's are the ones "grooming" these shooters. They certainly wouldn't want their marks being discouraged by the stats, right?
Not much discouragement if you go in expecting death anyway. Just means that you need to not waste time fucking around and to stay aware of your surroundings even in gun free zones.
