Go to the source materials and read the diaries and histories written by soldiers who served. For example, Company Aytch by Samuel R. Watkins.

I loved the Ken Burns Civil War documentary series. It's a PBS series from 1990, so you can imagine it's not going to be some gigabased esoteric underground Bitchute conspiracy theorist stuff. But it's not woke and it's not overly political. It tells the stories of the battles and the generals and the soldiers on the ground. Incredible, fascinating historical photography shown throughout.

The source to read for the Reconstruction period following the war is called The Tragic Era - The Revolution After Lincoln. Written in the thirties, it's a very dense political history of the period.

Look up Judah Benjamin. His name was on the confederate money. Just the normal kikery. The Memoirs of General Sherman are fascinating. Although not the pro southern account you may be looking for, a Northern general's insight on war, slavery, jews, etc are worth the read.
