They claim they do indeed take a small amount for administration such as "processing fees," but that could be a limited hangout.
Also note that it seems like USD credit cards work for GBP at conversion rates. I thought it might not work for this cause since there was no "pay in USD option," but my transaction seemed to go through ... learn something new every day.
Looks like 2.7% plus a 30cent per charge fee. So it's actually very cheap. Most of that has to be credit card processing fees so i'm guessing they take a very small fraction of a percent for overhead, staffing, insurance, servers, etc.
You've got to watch out for that. Some vendors convert to USD and the credit card pays them in USD. Others just charge you in the native currency.
If you do pay in GBP or whatever, the credit card will do a currency conversion automatically. I don't know any cards that don't. The issue is that some cards charge a fee for this, which will show up later as a separate line item, some cards don't.
This is especially important if you're going to travel to Europe etc, and you want to use your credit card.
