That's not the point. One can admire historical figures of the past without falling into trying to sell oneself as a mere imitation. We live in different times, in a different place, in different circumstances though with similar problems and while it's useful to look to at the past it's also important to not ignore the situation of the day and to establish an identity that relates to that specifically.
Without a new and separate identity it just comes off as larping as something popular from the past rather than having a solution for the present even if that solution can be found in the past. Let it be known where you stand on historical matters but don't try to sell yourself as that same group even if heavily inspired by it.
