Correct.

This guy is fat and defeated. All he sees is gloom and a sad ending for him and his peers. There are millions like him.
At 40, he has maybe another 30 or 40 years to go. Does he want to spend them feeling sorry for himself and mourning what was lost, while he slowly decays?
He needs to wake up and get angry. Enraged! Fight for what is rightfully his! Life will become meaningful again.

If you're 40, unmarried, and chronically depressed, you're probably gonna die by the time you're 50. All-cause mortality is through the roof for those basic factors. If you don't have a community, a family, or even a reason to live, you simply die.
