Hitler said a lot of things and did even more things; he also had occultist groups within his circle yet praised Catholicism. He was what I would like to call a racial pragmatist first and foremost. He was far more people and race-first than religion-first, thus, if Christianity was in best interest of Germanic culture, then so it was, *but not for its own sake*.
Also, the reason why modern pagans are larpers is because Christians erased much of our primal culture and inheritance and that is immutable. You can give justifications for it, but that will always be true.
