This map was compiled in 2010 using data that was probably collected prior to that. A 2/3rds abortion rate per pregnancy was the norm for decades in the Soviet Union and the years following its collapse were not a substantial improvement in terms of the instability, violence and hopelessness that characterized the regime itself. If you look at more modern data from [the same source](https://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/wrjp336pd.html), Russia as a whole shows improvement relative to other Western nations, although the abortion rate is still very high there.
However:
Poland birth rate is 1.16 children per woman.
Russia's birth rate is 1.41 children per woman.
I did a quick search for abortion rates by country:
Poland: 10 abortions per 1k women
Russia: 13.1 abortions per 1k women
USA: 14.4 abortions per 1k women
India: 48 abortions per 1k women
Don't know which source is more reliable, but I would take any info, especially sensationalist stuff like the map above, with a huge grain of salt.
