Not necessarily. Women follow trends, it's biological and its a survival mechanism. Being in the out-group as a physically weaker woman runs quite a few more risks than being a man in the out-group. Note: this is specifically among white and also east Asian women. Black females are dominant over their males.
The growth of women who notice coincides with the growth of men who notice. Women follow in lock-step behind whatever trends men start. Noticing is a trend coming from men, its growing popularity means that women are starting to be attracted to the prospect.
