Everything makes so much more sense when you realize two things: One: that "judaism" as we know it today is a corrupted cult spawned from the Roman destruction of Judea and has as much to do with the original Israelite faith as the nation of islam has to do with actual islam.

And two: American evangelicals and related denominations are apocalypse death cultists who seek to accelerate the coming of the end times on account of the fact that they are too weak willed and cowardly to enforce The Lord's will on their own time.

They're reaching the end of their natural lives and want the world to go out with them. Everything they've done is under the presumption that Jesus will return in their lifetimes, so they don't care what the long term consequences are, because they thought there wouldn't be any.
