We really have to. What do the vegans expect to happen to all the farm animals? Since they were bred for farming, they will just cease to exist instead of roaming freely in the woods.

Not only the animals but the friggin' crops too. Absent the Haber-Bosch process and rock phosphorous, the inly viable way to fertilize crops is with animal manure.
