While I'm sure you'd see some women-sharing in (specifically) viking culture, just due to a mich higher mortality rate in the men, we don't see any wide-spread practices like harems, and slaves tend to come from outside, not within.
In hypergamous cultures, with no checks, women will seek the top 1% of men and form harems. The other 99% of men will have a much higher chance of being rapists, slaves, or sent to die to get them out of the way because the focus of their lives will be getting women. We don't see this in Norse cultures.
I wonder what the prompt for this quote was? Something like "Don't your men get jealous when they see women walking in public with their faces showing"?
