TLDR: Hulk sued them because they released a tape of him fucking Bubba the Love Sponge (Todd Clem, a radio guy in Florida) wife. Gawker leaked the tape, Hulk sued, he won, they went bankrupt.
Todd Clem is an omega cuckold though, he wanted it to happen so that he could be rich.

That comment right there killed the entire case. Bubba tried to act like this was kind of adultery, then it came out in court that he offered his wife to Hulk, then sat there and watched it happen.
