i don't know shit about cars or engines or engineering but couldn't just mount a louder and dirtier motor in a more humble car frame? bigger car doesn't necessarily mean bigger motor right? i'm sure you can fix a lorry motor to a car with enough know-how...

No. The emission standards in the US are based off size/weight. It's the reason why trucks today are much larger than trucks in the 80s. Instead of pussifying the engines due to emissions standards, the auto manufacturers instead decided to just make the vehicles bigger to pass emissions.

and muh emissions is a dumb ass lie anyways, man has not significantly, if at all, contributed to the well, everything and anything, of the world's atmosphere. exception being weather weapons of course.

anyways, pussified or not, our cars still look more sane and whenever i see amerikaner cars i feel like throwing up.
