I've used a friend's outhouse on his property at a little hunting camp that's set up. They got a bucket of lye or something you sprinkle in the hole afterwards.
I don't know what kind of critters Europe has, but in the states there are black widow and brown recluse spiders that are a serious threat while pooping outside.
