transgenderism somewhat seems like a "side effect" of technological society; it's a problem of technology, for following reasons:

1, the hormones are produced by high tech pharma companies, as well as surgeries produced by the high tech medical world. These abilities were not possible until recent tech advances (they still don't truly change genders, but they create "advanced crossdressing states" I guess you could say...?)

2, technology enables men and women to do the same jobs at times, whereas in more primitive cultures, the physical strength of men put men above women naturally with jobs being physically demanding, and with life being a bit more physically brutal in some ways. So the technology that has made life "softer" has in some ways enabled this kind of confusion about gender

3, sophisticated propaganda techniques to psychologically brainwash people in to wanting to "consume" this "lifestyle"

It's not 100% caused by tech, but there's an intersection with these technological developments and a greater spread of transgenderism - I guess some researchers maybe do see a little "trans-ness" in some primitive cultures, but I don't think it's anything like what we see in the OP pic

The other issue of course is the intersection with spiritual "illness": perhaps a rebellious spirit against what gender God biologically determined for you, as well as lusts that are out of control and make you want to "experiment" with reproductive bodily mutiliation.
