Yes, I posted about that here and elsewhere at the time. People dismissed it by saying that it was the commercial airliners that were refusing to enter their airspace for safety. No, even private charters were prohibited. The IDF threatened to arrest anyone caught trying to leave the country.
Many of them have homes abroad (See: "Israelis invested $2.3b in real estate abroad in 2022"), so imagine how embarrassing it would have been to their claims that Israhell is a "real" country if 50% or more can just up and leave if they had to? The optics would prove that jews don't need the land, that it's not a real country, and that the Palestinians need the land more rather than be made refugees.
