That was a hundred years ago. Civilized people have been destroyed by modernity, their eyes do not light up.
Men have put their lives on the line for family, band and tribe for a million years but when Dunbar's Number gets to be high enough it becomes problematic to transfer that altruism to totally unrelated strangers. That's why they have to beat the drums so loudly. It's unnatural.
The Green Book deals with tribes. Globohomo denies human nature and tries to deal out one big tribe. When you start from a flawed premise then issues are sure to follow. Pretty soon all you have is issues and can't remember how it was before everything went tits up.
