Probably because those shamanistic elders are as bad as most Pagans all over the world were with screwing kids and doing weird shit to have power over people and control them. There is nothing to really mourn, especially for women who were treated like dirt until Christianity. They want to go back to working all day while the men hunted a couple days a week and sat around outside of building laughable homes and making weapons? Hell the Native American men probably didn't even do most of the work on the tents. What were the women gonna do about it? Without the men there they get raped and treated worse by another group of men who conquer them.

Reality doesn't = kiked education and hollywood and none of these societies was the wonderland they try to make them look like and that includes white societies like the Vikings. You don't go around stealing and attacking soft targets like churches because you have a great, stable culture. You do it because you are desperate, hungry and your farmland sucks. You also do it because if you don't give these people a target as a leader, they are going to target you lol. Because you do awful shit, the gods and religion you create has awful things in it to justify all the bad shit. It's human nature.
