No, he only enjoyed the company of groupies; which is the prerogative of wealthy, successful men.

Not the point. Kobe is an icon in L.A. and the fact that the rioters vandalized it shows that they either didn't know who it was for (because they're not American and don't belong here) and/ or they're savages for which nothing matters. The context of it all matters more.
He was charged with rape and paid off the accuser.
I think she was barely legal. He was married. He admitted to sex with her in the hotel, where she worked. Dispute was whether or not it was consensual.
She did report it immediately, and to the police. She didn't make the claim years later like lots of phony accusations.
Also her family was already wealthy, so it makes it less likely that she was in it just for the money.
