Any of these groups, if they're opened to public enrollment and are "known" about by people, are instantly targeted and infiltrated by federal agents.
Not all cops are drooling zogbots and idiots. There are FBI agents and detectives who can easily fool and create a convincing enough backstory that it would fool any filters they have set up to vet people.
If the FBI has been able to infiltrate tight-knit criminals organizations built around secrecy and loyalty, how easy do you think they're going to infiltrate a group open to public enrollment?
The other angle is multiple feds joining, and then going out and committing crimes and acts of terror while representing the organization. The rest of their fed buddies come swooping in and arrest everyone in the group and charge them all with terrorism, even though the only ones in the entire group who were violent or terrorists were the undercover agents.
