The content my 6 year old nephew was watching on YouTube made for kids was a similar level of drivel. I told his mom that that stuff was engagement slop that was created from algorithms and is likely to make him stunted and retarded.

One year later the kid is into soccer and taking martial arts classes. The kid is now a lot more aware and emotionally mature.

Shortform videos should be banned for minors. They are so bad for a child's developing brain, as evidenced by how quickly they've zombified adults in just a few years. YouTube Kids is like a step below that in terms of how bad it is. Like it's definitely drivel, but at least the videos aren't decimating the viewer's attention span. I would ban YouTube kids for children under 10. Which would make it pointless because kids older than 10 don't watch that shit. And while we're at it, image-sharing social media platforms, like Instagram, should be banned for minors as well. They're just a gateway for teenage girls to become attention whores, and then actual whores.

>and is likely to make him stunted and retarded.

It **is** stunting his growth. At that age it is critical he learns new skills, because he is a walking sponge. An instrument, chess, how to use a computer, basic mathematics, a new language, writing in cursive; it is all important.

Not watching overstimulating AI SLOP that rots his brain with useless dribble. Before this slop we had "educational" programming like Teletubbies which was just as bad.

Homeschooling is the best option at this point to grow the best children, although it has its downs as well (lack of socialization). At the very least, parents should start taking responsibility and take away that tablet, and read to them - or teach them how to read - a book instead.
