The story is that 1.5 million Jewish children were killed in the Holocaust. There were around 9 million Jews in Europe at the time, including Russia. The Jewish population there had not been growing rapidly so it was not skewed towards younger cohorts. That means there was probably around 1.8-2 million Jews under 20. If 1.5 million were killed, that would leave 500,000 left, which by 2020 would leave maybe 100,000 survivors.
If however, only a couple hundred thousand were killed by 1945, that would leave around 250,000-300,00 people alive by 2020.
The current mainstream estimates for "survivors" is 245k still alive in 2020. Now which scenario does that match with?
