The guys you're talking about have adopted a Boomer mindset that all cops are Andy Griffith rather than uniformed thugs. I'm sure you've seen the linked video; cops will lie about you said, or take what you said and fill in the gaps with their own narrative to serve you up to the DA's office -- all so they can say "case closed" and go home to beat their wives.
White guy driving to work? $$$, ez pz police income =go for it! Black guy on drugs scamming a bodega? Potential scandal or even jailtime for the cop = "lets not needlessly cause *an incident*, now...", "was calling the police *really necessary?*"
1. Domestic Disturbances: If you try to intervene with an angry breeder pair, they both turn on you. No thanks.
