Anybody here use one? Think they're easy to keep clean near a dining table with a toddler around?

Dont know about cowhide but If you have a toddler you should just get something cheap you can throw away in a few years.

seems like a mistake to put a rug down by a table with a toddler.

every kitchen that I have lived in has either been tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl tile or linoleum

Depends how well they're made.

I have one it’s super easy to clean but it doesn’t vacuum well you have to go with the direction of the fur. You can run it through the washing machine and it comes out looking brand new. Air dry only.

I'm not familiar with them, but for toddlers I would keep the hardwood floor bare and use a steam mop. If that's not feasible, then buy a cheap tablecloth and keep it under their high chair, then shake it out and wash after dinner.
