Whites (me included!) rarely expect this behavior from anyone around them. I'm guilty as well. We all need to not relax and get in the habit of being ready for violence around them, and also avoiding them whenever possible as a higher priority in our lives
I have to remind myself that basic self preservation has been bred out of many whites today though. 😡
