Yes exactly. You did a much better job of explaining it. They have intermingled "free expression" with free speech, which is the real issue. There should be no restriction on speech or the written word, but many restrictions on public behavior (public indecency, public intoxication, etc). Yelling nigger in the street should be fine. When you evaluate media involving pictures or video, you're outside the realm of speech.

And they still teach that shouting fire in a theater is illegal even though it isn't.
