Once upon a time work was almost always physically demanding and conducted in whatever inclement weather conditions might have been dealt out on the day. Women stayed at home because that was the privileged position. It was never about them being oppressed.
I work in pharmaceutical quality.
Men will almost always prefer to work on the manufacturing floor, validating equipment, or fixing some process.
Women will always go for document control, management, or anything that gets them away from anything that requires doing science or engineering. The women will ultimately adopt masculine traits, become argumentative, and refuse to listen to subject matter experts (85% men)
''But I want to wear a cute sleeveless summer dress exposing half my chest at work! Putting on a sweater is an unacceptable compromise. Also, men wearing sleeveless shirts is unprofessional and icky, but raise the thermostat for me.''
true. but also it's my belief, from looking around while working in various corps, that jobs were created specifically for women. jobs that really shouldn't exist, that don't increase productivity, sales, or competitive advantage. they simply exist to employ women. they exist to satisfy government-mandated quotas and political action groups.
so yes, once upon a time work was physically demanding, and it still is. the majority of works is hard work in the real world doing real things. but not all of it. we've always needed engineers, scientists, logistics experts. but now we have all of these make-work jobs for women too. you've seen the tiktoks they post.
so this meme isn't all that accurate. many women vastly prefer their work-life of stirring up office drama, telling hard-working men what to do based on the women peanut-brain understanding of the world, shopping online at their desk, and shit-posting or trolling for dick on their phones. no responsibilities, free money, an un-earned feeling of self-importance, no family, a downtown apartment, endless party weekends. and apparently that's what our society is geared to create and support.
