Maybe it's the argument of "grand design vs free will" but I've always been of the idea that Satan knew Jesus would rise. He wouldn't be shocked by the resurrection. I swear I've had this discussed a dozen times in my life.
If we live by God's grand design, Satan is part of it and a cog in the machine. I dont think he'd be happy about the resurrection (especially because of Jesus took our sins) but I dont think he'd be surprised.
Its possible that God blinded the devil to the possibility of the resurrection, or his own pride did. Demons are generally almost all knowing, but God can blind their will to the point they become ignorant of something till it happens, which could have been the case with the Ressurection
Jesus had went to hell during the three days He was dead saving innocent souls who were sent there by mistake (IIRC, God had banned anyone from getting into Heaven temporarily at some point), and I imagine He was beating any demon He could Wrestle Mania style in order get to every soul.
What I'd thought is that the sins people commit in life give satan power over them in hell. Because Jesus had committed no sin, he was powerless against Him, in addition to Him being the Son of God. The reason why God allows satan to have power is because at the end of Revelations satan will be sealed away for 1000 years. At that point, every human who is left will reject him, and then God will destroy him.
because if that's the case than shitposting might be greatly suffecated on this kosher platform
