These are weak people. It's easier to pretend this weakness is virtuous than it is to become stronger. Then, since being virtuous is good, being even weaker on purpose is even better. That, or they are tribal shapeshifters who want to convince you of this.
'The meek shall inherit the earth. If I just do nothing and let you step on me, I'll win in the end. I'm not spineless, I'm strong for letting you abuse me. Holy, even. It's like the Good Book says, 'Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.' This is just my cross to bear. Wow, I'm just like Jesus. Bless me harder, daddy.'

From my understanding, That is not what meek means. To be meek is like knowing how to use a weapon but keeping it holstered by choice. The important part is knowing how to use it, because a time will come when you must do so.
Please provide the section of scripture that says that.
If you are referring to "turn the other cheek" it doesn't mean to let them strike you twice. It means to force them to face you as an equal. The context is Jesus was backhanded by a noble, so by turning the other cheek the noble could not backhand his other cheek. Instead he would be forced to slap or punch him which would be recognizing Jesus as equal while a backhand is something you do to those beneath you.
Otherwise, by "blessed are you when people insult you, etc" I think what you are forgetting is that the world, not just people, has been corrupted by sin. So those who aim to make friends with the world or worldly things, make enemies of God. While those who are hated by a sinful world are blessed because they are likely good Christians.
Pride is also sinful, praising yourself as a selfless martyr for your suffering is prideful.
Regardless though I still agree that these are weak people.
Meek definition: enduring injury with patience, without resentment.
Like being driven by love for your people instead of hate for their people. Defending your family because you love them, not because you hate the others
