These memes are always a huge misrepresentation, there wasn't an "off time" where they kicked back on a couch. They "only worked" 150 days a year because their main job was farming and that was the growing season. The rest of the year was spent working odd jobs, maintaining their land and property, and surviving winter. The Bible mandates one day off a week because people were otherwise working every day. While people worked harder back then they were happier because it was real tangible work that benefitted their immediate surroundings and not fake busywork that makes some magic numbers in a bank account go up every two weeks.

> The Bible mandates one day off a week

Fun fact: the people who invented the metric system, where every unit is a power of 10 - they also tried to institute a 10 day week specifically to prevent people from knowing when to go to church.

They were evil fuckers.

They also abolished the church entirely and renamed Notre Dame “The Temple of Reason” to center around their Cult Of Reason.

They're the same people who made the metric system?

Redpill me on the French Revolution because I honestly don't know anything about it.

Being a peasant IRL. The grind is real. So many errands.

The peasant grind was real but as a result the people were real.
