4ish years ago, the latest thing in AI was making it 'safe' for faggots, and though now companies commonly use a second bot trained to detect offensive material and flag it, originally there was a concept called LEACE: https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.03819

It stands for Linear Concept Erasure, and it does exactly what it sounds like. The idea is that the bot could never produce anything right wing if it was forced to forget certain concepts (e.g. like the negative connotations of the word 'gay', in your case).

It likely actually thinks the word gay only refers to a sexual orientation.

You're absolutely right. Of my many gay queries, many return results of a company's LGBT activism and even confirm companies are gay.
