In all seriousness, when the Normans "conquered" England, they had to fine towns for the anonymous murders of Norman nobility. Since that time, they would find Norman nobles dressed in Anglo-Saxon clothing dead in areas far from any town.
Just because you didn't get caught doesn't mean it didn't happen.
