We already have 40 or so chickens. Almost to 25 ducks, then I will stop.

I want to have a few dozen chicken and duck eggs each day... Our roadside farm stand sells out every day, so need to increase numbers.

So far we sell, chicken eggs, ducks eggs, banana bread, white bread and goat milk soap. Paying all the bills...

What benefits do ducks have over chickens? I'd like to have some one day but I didnt think there was any practical advantage.

They eat snails and slugs which helps the goats as the white tail deer carry some worms that co mingle with snails and slug (https://easternalliancekatahdins.com/meningeal-worm/). They are hardier, more tolerant to cold and rain and snow. Also they lay the same if not more eggs, and more early in the spring and later in the late fall. Also we charge more for duck eggs as they are less common and better for baking and have bigger yokes, more protein and minerals.
