I've talked to a lot of women about this, trying to convince them to stay home. Most the working mother's paycheck, if she does happen to have children, goes to daycare and someone to pay to clean her house, deliver groceries and goyslop, meal prep, do her laundry... then there's also vanity projects to look good at work (hair, nails, lashes, clothes) and paying for lunches and dinners because she "doesn't have time" to cook.
It's insanity. She's working for peanuts for another man (or woman) while leaving her family and home for most the day. Every working mother I've spoken to who claims to "love working" says it's because, "I need something just for me."
But if you're just looking for your own selfish glory, staying home and raising your children and tending to your home is the ultimate freedom! With your husband's blessing and guidance, you are in complete control of your time and attention. If I'm tired because I stayed up all night with baby, I can rest. If I decide the weather is beautiful and we're doing school outside we can. If I want to take time to myself I shoo the children outside to sew or knit or read with a cup of tea.
Looking beyond oneself, there's just more of mama to go around. I can sit with my husband and hear his concerns without having to rush off. Bluntly, I'm not too tired for his affections. I can kiss booboos, make healthy meals, teach the math lesson to frustrated kids, let the toddler make a mess in the kitchen with me and throw random tea parties as we read aloud. I have time to visit my neighbors and elderly family and bring them meals and help tidy their house. It's beautiful. 10/10 highly recommend!
