Yeah, that always made sense to me. They found a shoreman's hat which his sone would always wear. His son had psychological issues - IIRC schizophrenia. His son felt animosity for his father being spurrned. He had no alibi. And of course OJ would try to help his son cover it up (yes, accessory after the fact, but not murder). This is plausible. And that is why beyond a shadow of a doubt and double jeopardy are things. They just screwed up the investigation. They shouldn't have charged him so quickly since they did not have enough evidence to even charge him with accessory after the fact. Heck, he could have put his son up to it.
