I've been in a casino only once, some Southern California Indian casino that my wife insisted on going to for our anniversary. The old ladies and Mexicanas she used to work with said they enjoyed going there, so she dragged me there one night.
I found it loud and labyrinthine, and I couldn't grasp the idea of using the magnetic strip card with the slots. It was super easy to lose $20 in a short period of time, and when that was gone, I said that was enough. I would be damned if I was going to throw good money after bad. My wife may not understand the reality of money, but having worked for a living all of my life, I understood it all too well, and the money we lost represented my time and hard labor.
We also went to the buffet, which was the most horrible food I've ever eaten. I wasn't especially picky about food back then, but this slop was revolting. I don't remember if the buffet was free or if I had to pay for it, but if it were free, I paid for it with the money we lost in the slots, and we paid far too much.

First and last time in a casino. Never again.
