I know there are people in here who've struggled with weed, or booze, or wanking, but has anyone had issues with gambling?

I dunno, I just never saw the appeal.

Might have to do with the rewiring of the brain, gambling addition makes people lose all empathy while other addictions doesn't, or at least not as much. There's less of a dopamine kick from alcohol or weed. Wanking depends on the amount of degeneracy consoomed for the dopamine kicks, some coomers only look at pictures of nude women, others consoom insane degeneracy from the deepest corners of the internet, which would be far worse.

Haven't seen anyone here with a gambling addiction, but of course that doesn't mean they don't exist, or have existed.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a country were gambling was and still is illegal, or a state monopoly. Funny enough when somethnig is run by the government it's no longer cool and the amount of regulations affects the dopamine kick these facilities can provide.

A fren had a gambling addiction and brought me to the towns only casino once, it was nowhere near as much of a dopamine kick as the average US or UK casino, no bright colors, no slot machines, no maze layout or any of the other tricks, just the usual government furniture you'd expect to fins in schools, at hospitals or in prison, tables with card games, blackjack, poker etc and of course a bar with a decent selection of alcohol but that was it.

Gambling ads are illegal, funnily enough the government use the same tracking system as US and UK casinos to find the most addicted people or the biggest losers, but instead of preying on them, they use this information to help with with their addiction, banning them from entering the casino and offer psychological help. Seems a lot easier to quit gambling when not constantly exposed to ads and similar shenanigans.

Yeah, I had a relative take me to a casino once and...let's just say I didn't see James Bond anywhere.

They eventually lost their house.

Gives no meaning to the phrase “the house always wins”.

Can attest I never saw it either, doubly so after a friend pointed out to me during a game of Infinity (A wargame) that I'd make a poor gambler due to the rolls I was making.

Ive heard of a business exec getting taken to the cleaners, to the point he was broke and living in a shitty rental apartment after being filthy rich and retired.

My brother is. Have a massive problem with him, he wants to get rich at any cost, keeps blowing money on slot machines, online casinos... My family is pretty dysfunctional, but he takes the cake.

I've had multiple people tell me it's fun even if they don't win. But as someone who knows the truth that the house always wins, it just looks pointless.

The only gambling I can ever see being even remotely acceptable is amongst friends where you have direct control over wether you win or lose like playing a round of golf or something where loser has to buy lunch or something like that. I’m not even sure if that’s considered gambling.

I mean I collect trading cards, which if you just buy the rng packs, is somewhat like gambling, but recently ive been short on cash and just buy singles of cards I intend to play with.

I've been in a casino only once, some Southern California Indian casino that my wife insisted on going to for our anniversary. The old ladies and Mexicanas she used to work with said they enjoyed going there, so she dragged me there one night.

I found it loud and labyrinthine, and I couldn't grasp the idea of using the magnetic strip card with the slots. It was super easy to lose $20 in a short period of time, and when that was gone, I said that was enough. I would be damned if I was going to throw good money after bad. My wife may not understand the reality of money, but having worked for a living all of my life, I understood it all too well, and the money we lost represented my time and hard labor.

We also went to the buffet, which was the most horrible food I've ever eaten. I wasn't especially picky about food back then, but this slop was revolting. I don't remember if the buffet was free or if I had to pay for it, but if it were free, I paid for it with the money we lost in the slots, and we paid far too much.

First and last time in a casino. Never again.

I used to work at a casino. Currently, they make most of their money from 80/90 year old women pissing away their dead husbands pensions. Not exaggerating. They sit at slot machines for hours and spend thousands. Casinos will have to pivot after the boomers die

I watch all the boomers blow their wealth at the injun casinos around here every day. We're gonna throw those nasty indians in the oven as well when we take over.

I thank God everyday that Ive never been interested in gambling, alcohol, other drugs, and I’ve never been to a strip club, and I’ll never understand the allure. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I played craps a couple times, pretty fun. Slots are retarded though and of course casinos are a scam. At least there weren't any niggers.
