Technically it's nothing new as of Britain and Germany. People get jailed over opinions or expressions of facts. And in the US you have censorship indirectly via big jewish corporations. YouTube for example is extremely censorious. Reddit is even worse than that. Twitter was terrible, and it got better temporarily - but the point is that censorship is long here.
And yes, it's essentially CCP censorship. The Chinese can't say some things about their government and history, we can't say things about jews, ZOG, faggots, niggers, holobunga and large chunks of our history. Only indirectly and carefully. Who's actually worse off here?
What if the Chinese fear that they'd have Western censorship imposed upon them? If we could swap censorship, it's the Chinese who'd refuse.
