God's gonna take specific issue with people who think everything he says is figurative first and foremost and not literal. I would slap the shit out of my wife if she took everything I said figuratively.

I've personally observed where real megafloods have taken place (missoula floods). The rest of the continent shares none of the floodwater-created features. There are easily distinguishable differences between slow erosion and fast erosion, and most of the world is slow erosion.
