Spring is here! Goats are hitting the ground as we speak here at the farm. Bunch of twins and a few singles... Got some first time mommas and they are doing good...

Lately I like to slow cook goat with some allspice, tomatoes, maybe some ginger... And fresh cilantro added when you eat it. Really makes some great goat stew...

Goats might be great for you but I prefer dairy sheep as they are much easier to handle and the milk is just as good.
If you can get your name out there the profit for cheese making can be quite good. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel, just look at what types are popular in local stores and reproduce them if they are simple enough. Another underrated use of goat and sheep milk is to make mozzarella.

Sheep are cool man. We had some when I was a kid...
My Ktahadin and Black Faced scottish...
I just love goats... they have so much personality, but yea they can be a pain... I dont really have a problem with goats now that I have been doing it for a long time... I just dont feel like having a ram and sheep at this point, but who knows...
I recently got into ducks, have chickens of course but man ducks got some real personality too... Gonna keep incubating ducks eggs, have 20 or so ducks now...
I don't have a problem with handling my meat goats. They are kind fat and slow... And I built a nice catch area for my buck. He isn't aggressive at all.
You can milk them by hand like any other ruminant, but I would recommend getting a milking machine, they make small ones that that take 1-2 head at a time, and they are fairly affordable.

Does he flop on the ground and faint when you set off a firecracker near them. We were really shitty kids...
My uncles fucking nutty ex wife had a goat farm and to this day I find goats falling over in the fencing position and laying stiff on the ground hilarious.
I was so initially shocked and concerned for the animal by this until I heard it was common.
My initial reaction as a young teen was to help him up, but that was not smart.
