I wondered this too. Businesses can't run without being lent money, so...

It's not like jews were very popular with the average audience at the time either, so there couldn't possibly be a beneficial reason. Maybe they were just idiots and it's a hilarious coincidence? We practically live in a simulation.

Well, this is a (((post-1913 corporation))) we're talking about so not an average audience. Jews simply wanted to get the law passed and used a large company run by shabbos goyim to do it. At the very least it's safe to say it's not a cohencidence.
