If anything, the British were the only ones keeping the peace.
So, India got its independence in 1946, and it's demonstrated that it has absolutely no capacity for governing a region filled with stupid and ignorant people of different languages, races, and religions, that the British did far more good than harm for India, that democracy is an absolute failure, and that even now, Indians don't have a clue how to manage their state.
