Why, because I sarcastically framed this new york post article as ridiculous?

Lol give me a break, I came to the comments to get info but there was none. Ill naturally be suspicious of the new york post and the associated press, but Id read the article if you bothered to post it.

My guess is that no one here read the article. Not even the person who shared this screenshot to you.

How can a fertility clinic change the race of a baby? How can anything other than race mixing change the race of the offspring? Do you have these answers, they're not here.

I can't be bothered to find and read the article. Who gives a fuck really, but the headline makes it pretty clear that there was a mix up and they put the wrong embryo inside the woman.

So you have two couples one is white and let's say the other is black. They both go to the same fertility clinic. Both men give sperm samples and the women's eggs are removed via laparoscopy. Then under a microscope the IVF technician selects a sperm that looks good and forcefully inserts it into the egg. Alternatively, if the sperm quality is quite good, they just put some sperm next to the egg and let them do their own thing. Either way, hopefully, the end result is a fertilized egg. This is then grown in the lab for at least 3 days. It should be 7-8 cells by day 3. Sometimes they wait until day 5 and then take a single cell from the embryo and have it genetically analyzed. From what I gather this is not the best idea. Since a day 5 embryo only has like 70-100 cells. So you're actually doing some serious damage by taking one cell. It's less likely for these embryos to then survive in the womb even if they are clean genetically. Anyway regardless of the scenario the embryos are then implanted into the women's womb.

Now what could have happened is one of the following: the embryos might have been mislabeled after fertilization or the mothers' charts might have gotten switched before implantation. This would mean the white embryo is implanted in the white woman while the black embryo is implanted in the white woman.

Interesting. I didnt know we had gotten that far medically. I just assumed fertility clinics helped with fertility health and maybe pregnancy, never knew they could fertilize outside of the body.
