Unbeknown to most, 1984 was in fact, a manual. Eric Blair (Orwell) was himself worked in the British Propaganda department during WW2 and his wife was an official censor.

His father worked in the Indian Civil Service's Opium Department, traveling to remote areas to manage poppy farmers and crop quality.

Yep. I did a research paper on Orwell back in the eighties. This guy is not the saint they make him out to be. We was a drifter and vagabond. He weaseled his way into influential circles.

Ive seen memes about Make Orwell Fiction Again. Or 1984 is not an instruction manual. You are the first person Ive seen in the wild make this point without me bringing it up. You are right. It IS an instruction manual. He wasnt warning us. He was rubbing out noses in it.

Some of Orwells literary works where stol-, err, I mean inspired from other writers as well. He was somewhat of a hack.
