I’ve been debating seeing if I could somehow wiggle my way back to Ireland through their right of return laws. I don’t qualify though, I think your grandparents had to be born in Ireland but I’m at least a few generations removed from that. It’s sad what they’ve done to the American psyche, but I also wonder if it’s not been this way nearly from the beginning - cant blame Hollywood for fighting the civil war. I’d rather return to Europe, learn all the languages, meet my ancestors that didn’t move to America, and help fight for the real homeland. It breaks my heart though, I do love America, it’s just that most Americans are exactly as you said, they’ve just given it all up without a fight.
