The Vietnamese I grew up with were the exact same way. Some of the coolest laid back people, until you try to take their kindness as weakness. Cohencidentally, it was always niggers who were the ones willing/dumb enough to flip their switch in my AO. I know we bitch about them being bug people, but my first hand anecdotal experience of our Vietnamese in the south has left a very good taste in my mouth, and I’m not talking cat and dog flavor. 😁
