Which is ironic, because despite all the fuckery and corruption. Some of those aid deals may provide some leverage or deals which the US depends on. Controlling a third world country that has plenty of natural resources which US companies extract for instance is far more valuable than giving free shekels to israel and getting dragged into their wars.

That's a bit of a retard take. The vast majority of the "aide" funding was kick bribes. The rest was a CIA slush fund to destabilize nations. Stable countries provide stable output. Destabilized countries do not provide stable output. So those resource rich countries we destabilize do not ship us what we want.
Who noose were all that money went. Not saying it's good to extort other countries but it does contribute to a certain world order, which may now change as the financial interest is lost.
It will be interesting to see how it changes.
